Abu Dhabi maids clean out Dh2 million

Abu Dhabi Police have arrested four Filipino women, including three maids, who are accused of stealing more than Dh2 million from the house where two of the maids worked in Abu Dhabi.

The theft took place while the family were travelling outside the country.

Colonel Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Acting Director, Abu Dhabi Police, said one of the maids - the main suspect - planned the theft, using two maids who worked in the same house.

A fourth helped from outside the home.

The crime was discovered after the family returned from their travel and found Dh2.6 million missing. They informed the Khalidiya police station.

Colonel Al Muhairi called on residents, homeowners and families to protect money and possessions, especially when traveling.
