Eight-year-old, little Safyre Terry, was horribly burned in a deliberately set house fire that claimed the lives of her father, her younger sister and her two toddler brothers in 2013.

Safyre was severely burned - over 75 per cent of her body - in the arson, reports Fox News.

This year, she said, all she wanted for Christmas was cards – enough to fill a wire card holder that her adopted family brought home.

So her aunt and legal guardian, Liz Dolder, put out a request on Facebook a few days ago. She didn't expect much of a response.

Safyre's request for Christmas cards from around the world went viral last week, inundating her with mail.

As of Monday, Safyre had received more than 300,000 pieces of mail. The postmaster said more mail will be delivered in a tractor-trailer this week.

A YouCaring.com crowdfunding site has generated more than $330,000 in donations for Safyre and her aunt and uncle, the AP reported.

A Facebook page updated by her family provides updates on her progress.
