The Dubai Criminal Court heard a case in which six men were involved in human trafficking, running a prostitution den and confining as well as forcing women into prostitution.

The Dubai Prosecution filed case against each of salesman MHW, 30, and workers: MNZ, 24, MAM, 28, AHA, 27, ASS, 22, and MSM, 25, human trafficking and exploiting the weakness of their compatriot MMS, 17.

They were also accused of confining the girl illegally and assaulting her.

MHW alone is accused of having forcible sex with the victim MMS. The accused also threatened to kill her life if she cried and did not keep silent while he raped her.

The two defendants MNZ and MSM are accused of using forged labour cards.

Two housemaids identified as KJW, 25, Ethiopian, and MBB, 27, are accused of working as prostitutes.

All of them denied their accusations except for MBB who confessed to working as a prostitute.

The victim MMS, told prosecutors that she arrived in Dubai on January 10, 2010 and MHW received her at the airport and took her passport and told her that he would take her to his apartment and the next morning he would drop her at her sponsor’s place.

“In the apartment, there were two Indonesian women… and after a while he asked me to have sex with him. When I refused, he forced himself on me. The next day when I asked him to drop me at my sponsor’s place, he told me that he is responsible for me and will not drop me anywhere. I started crying in shock... he threatened to slaughter me if I did not stop crying. The two other women helped him get hold of me when I refused to have sex with him and he forcibly had sex with me several times over the next couple of days. On the fourth day, he took me to another flat to offer sex to clients who had paid him money. There were four women and men in that flat. I told him that I do not want to do that. He brought 12 clients for me.”

“I used the mobile phone of a customer and called my brother and asked him for the mobile number of a woman called Nazma. I used the mobile phone of another customer and called Nazma and asked her for help.”

On the next day, MHW took me to another flat where there were three women in addition to three men who guarded the flat, brought in food and managed the den.

Nazma, 22, a Bangladeshi housemaid contacted the victim’s sponsor who said that he had given the visa to MHW to bring her from the airport and since then he had not appeared.

When Nazma called up the main accused, she was asked to pay Dh2,500 if she wanted the victim back. Nazma called the sponsor again who notified the police, who arrested the gang.

The Court adjourned the case until April 17.
