A mass child marriage ceremony has been captured on camera - showing young brides crying as they are forced to wed.
 
In the video that has been circulated on social media, a girl of around 10-years-old is seen crying and pleading for help as her father as he rags her to the ceremony.

In another clip a priest - conducting the Hindu ritual - is also seen scolding the children for crying.
 
In Chittorgarh in Rajasthan (India), six marriages took place over two days.
 
One of the child brides, a five-year-old, is seen dressed in a her bridal dress and is forced to walk around the fire with her child groom, an 11-year-old.
 
She is crying loudly but a man forces her to complete the wedding ritual, which involves walking around the fire seven times.

Police are investigating the families seen in the footage, all of whom are on the run or in hiding, MailOnline reports.
 
A child rights activist, Kriti Bharti of the Saarth Trust, has stopped more than 850 child marriages.

She says that society will ‘never improve’ unless ‘strict action’ is taken against the families who force children to marry.
