1 die, two hurt in Dubai accident on Thursday

Sudden deviations killed 21 people last year

One person died and two were injured in a car accident on Hissa Street in Dubai on Thursday morning.

Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Director of General Administration of Traffic in Dubai, said: "The accident happened at 6am when a driver lost control of his vehicle which veered from the Toyota FJ and hit a concrete barrier on the road.
 
The driver died on the spot while one of his companions was seriously injured. Another person in the vehicle was slightly injured. The identities of the three of them are not known.

Major Zafeen said sudden deviation of vehicles caused 473 accidents last year, resulting in 21 deaths. 38 were seriously injured, 152 sustained moderate injuries and 284 were slightly hurt.
