10-day-infant found at Sharjah construction site

A man passing near a building under construction in Sharjah stumbled across a 10-day-old boy wrapped in a blanket, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The man phoned the police who took the boy to Al Qassimi Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment and identification of parents.

Police sources, quoted by 'Al Ittihad' daily, said they would hunt down those who left the baby unattended on charges of endangering his life, adding that they would try to determine of the baby was a result of an illegitimate affair.

“The baby was found at a building under construction near a public park in Badei area….he has received treatment and his condition has now improved,” the paper said, quoting a source at Al Qassimi hospital.
