14 rescued dogs looking for new UAE homes

It’s a tragic story of loss and compassion.

Fourteen dogs are urgently in need of new homes and families to love and take care of them.

The dogs belonged to a Briton, who recently passed away. His wife - a New Zealander - has since left the UAE.

What started off as a bond with a couple of dogs led to an even stronger connection.

That extended out to making a loving home for even more dogs that were abandoned or thrown away by their initial owners.

Family friend, Anastasia Kuznetsova, is lending a helping hand in finding a home for all the canines.“They are friendly and house-trained, and are urgently looking to be adopted.”

She explained, “The dogs are of the local desert variety.”

Aged between one and seven years, all have been neutered and spayed.

Adopting a pet is always better than buying one, says local dog owner, Thomas K.

“I think selling of animals is wrong, and when you have a chance of adopting one, that’s always better. You just pay for the medical treatments, and off you go.”

Abdulla AM loves dogs and was surprised to see the advert. “I thought about how by adopting a dog you are actually saving a life, but my family won’t let me keep one for now. If this was my home, I would keep a room for all 14 of them.”

As pet adoption days are occasionally held in various locations around Dubai, Yolanda R says she’s looking forward to the next one.

“I’ve been to one around a month ago in Jumeirah, but the dogs were adopted so quickly, so I left sad and empty-handed.” she explained.

An adoption day will be held for the general public soon and will be announced by Doggies Palace on their website www.doggiespalace.com
