2 dead, 9 hurt in road crashes in 2 days

Two people lost their lives and nine were injured in road accidents that occurred in different areas of Dubai.

Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Directorate of Traffic in Dubai, the General Administration of Traffic in Dubai, said that the first incident occurred at 1pm on Monday near Al Maktoum airport as a result of collision of two light vehicles. A truck driver was injured in the accident and had to be rushed to the hospital.

In the second incident, an Asian person died in a collision on Tuesday afternoon when a four-wheel drive collided with a motorcycle, on the street of Rabat. The accident led to the death of the biker and the driver of the 4WD was injured.

In yet another incident, a bus and a heavy truck collided on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The bus driver was fatally injured and succumbed to his wounds.

In the fourth accident, which occurred on Sheikh Zayed Road, just outside Marina Mall in the direction of Dubai, a driver whose car ran out of fuel stopped suddenly. A light vehicle bumped into the car as it had stopped without warning in the middle of the road. A bus, plsying behind, also collided with the vehicle. Seven people were injured in the accident.
