3 firms fined Dh150,000 for illegal hiring

An immigration court in Ras Al Khaimah fined three companies Dh150,000 for recruiting workers who are not sponsored by them while 14 absconding workers were ordered deported from the UAE.

Labour inspectors raiding suspected construction sites seized the absconding workers and referred the three Asian contractors to the immigration court.

“The court fined each contractor Dh50,000 and ordered the deportation of 14 absconding workers whose visas have expired….other workers who have absconded but are staying in the country legally were fined,” the Arabic language daily Alittihad said.
