4-year-old boy falls to death from 16th floor

A four-year-old boy was killed after falling from the 16th floor and hitting the 10th level in a high-rise building in Sharjah to become the third child to die this way in the emirate in just a few days, press reports said on Thursday.

The boy plunged into the balcony on the 10th floor on Tuesday night and died of impact instantly, the semi official daily Alittihad said.

Rescuers who rushed to the building in Khan area found the child dead and police are questioning the boy’s family about the incident, the paper said without identifying the victim.

An Arab boy aged just over three years plunged to his death from the 14th floor in a Sharjah building a few days ago. A four-year-old Arab girl was also killed last week after falling from the 15th floor in a tower in Qassimiya area in the city.
