9-year-old Arab boy raped in Sharjah

An Arab man raped a nine-year-old boy of the same nationality after luring him under the stairs of a building in Sharjah, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Police arrested the man after he was reported by the boy’s father and was recognized by the victim, the Arabic language daily Al Klhaleej said.

A criminal court hearing the case on Tuesday was told that the man lured the boy to an isolated place under the stairs in a building in Al Qassimiya neighbourhood and forced him to “indulge in an obscene act”, the paper said.

It quoted court sources as saying a medical report presented to court showed the defendant is normal and responsible for his behavior.



Tailor accused of molesting female customer in RAK
 

An Asian tailor is on trial in Ras Al Khaimah on charges of molesting a female client while trying an abaya (gown) at his shop.

The Asian woman told police that the tailor tried to kiss her while taking her body’s measures for a new abaya at his shop.

“The woman told court that the tailor tried to kiss her although she and her family have been regular customers at his shop,” it said.
