The Security Support Department at Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) has demonstrated their exceptional abilities in handling challenging tasks during a two-day training exercise with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

In the training rounds, organised in cooperation with a specialised team from the LAPD, the ADP proved their capabilities in commanding police patrols, handling serious reports, and navigating various weather conditions in accordance with the best international practices.

After the exercise, Alexander Penrith, Training Manager at the LAPD, commended the high competency of the ADP Security Support officers. He noted that their abilities reflected advanced vocational training, which they have received through the modern methods adopted by the ADP in order to effectively combat crime. Penrith also lauded the high professionalism and capabilities of the female Security Support police officers, acknowledging their determination to overcome the challenges they face.

Captain Mohammed Ibrahim Al Balas, Operations Planning Branch Manager at the Security Support Department, explained that being involved in the daily tasks of the LAPD represented a unique opportunity for exchanging expertise and reviewing their experiences. This enhances the capabilities of the Security Support officers and their efficiency in performing their duties, regardless of the presence of difficulty or danger. It is also an appropriate opportunity to showcase the advanced levels of the Security Support force.

The Security Support Department team's visit and training sessions come as a step in the preparation for various joint efforts in field and security programmes that are to be implemented on the streets of Los Angeles.
