Al Ain family rescued from fire in villa

The Civil Defence rescued an Emirati father and his four sons from certain death when a fire broke out in their home at dawn on Tuesday in the Ghafa area of Al Ain.

Lt. Col. Rashid Al Darmaki, director of civil defence, said an escalator was used to bring the family out of the villa.

Another civil defence team put out the fire in the lounge of the villa with water cannons.

Lt. Mohammed Dirie, the civil defence officer on duty, is investigating into the cause of the fire.

Civil Defence has urged the public to ensure that electric appliances and exhaust fans are switched off at night.
