Al Barsha Pond Park to be opened soon

General Projects Department at Dubai Municipality has completed building works in Pond Park in Al Barsha 2 and will be opened for the public soon.

Essa Al Maidour, Assistant Director General for Engineering and Planning Sector, said that it is part of efforts to provide gardens in residential areas for leisure and recreation and improve lifestyle in Dubai.

"The strategic plan of Dubai Municipality aims to raise the per capita share of greenery to 23.4 square metres by the end of 2011 and raise the proportion of cultivated land in urban public areas in Dubai to 3.15 per cent by the end of the same period," he said.

Pond Park Barsha II is the fourth park to be opened by the municipality in Al Barsha 2 in 2010.

Total area of the garden is approximately 21 hectares with 10 hectares lake area. 11 hectares have been allocated for the establishment of the park designed with quality standards for garden design, taking into account the people with special needs.

The park site is easily accessible from all areas, parking has been provided with shaded trees to accommodate nearly 100 vehicles with distinctive lighting elements.
