Another suicide? Man jumps to death from 30th floor in JLT

A woman saw the man jump and called the police. Initial investigations do not show foul play

An Indian executive allegedly committed suicide on Sunday by jumping from the 30th floor of a building in Jumeirah Lake Towers at around 1.30pm, reported 'Khaleej Times'.

A woman saw the man jump and called the police, who moved the body to Department of Forensic Medicine. Initial investigations do not show foul play.

A letter allegedly written by the 45-year-old man reveals he was taking his own life following a dispute with his wife and due to certain financial problems, said police sources.

Found hanging

Meanwhile, Sharjah Police are investigating into the death of an Indian worker last Thursday. The 26-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling of his room, which he shared with a few others. His co-workers and roommates are being interrogated.

Last week, another Indian reportedly committed suicide in a plunge of 39 floors from a segment of the world's tallest skyscraper in Dubai. Dubai Police, Emaar Properties, which owns and manages Burj Khalifa, and a resident, confirmed the report to Emirates 24|7.

Naresh and Umj - how insensitive of you both to call the man a coward and faithless. He was appearantly ill suffering from bi-polar disorder, and you might do better to say 'There but for the grace of God go we'.

Please don't presume things... the men were probably depressed and that is a serious psychological problem... they are not cowards but have an illness that they cannot deal with... it is not right to categorise without knowing the full story.

Normal reaction when you lose hope. What will anyone's reaction be when you face stress from banks, when you know for sure that there is no solution and on top of that you have problems at home... is there single reason to stop you?

Suicide is not a solution to any problem, it is just an escape route. The coward's way of confirming that he/she can't handle it anymore! The Brave LIVE and FACE the problems head on and not smash their heads on pavments by jumping off!!

These are people of little or no faith. Life is full of ups and downs. It seems the some people cannot handle some points in the circle of life. No one has the right to take own life. One should not expect a smooth ride all through, some turbulent points are met to bring us closer to our creator as He can help us out. The acts of committing suide should stop, at the worst go for counselling.

10 years back, such cases were considered like "Bin Laden Dead!", and now..it's just one of the things everyone has to live with reading every 2-3 days!
