Apple's iPad Air UAE impact: iPad @ Dh1,100, New OS free for Macs

If you are an Apple fan and have been using Mac products, things just changed for you for the better last night.

Apple has announced a brand new iPad, or rather, renamed its new larger version and called it the iPad Air.

It has also introduced a much awaited retina display to the iPad mini.

However, if you are not the kind of Apple fan willing to pay Apple’s premium pricing for its latest releases, but want to a byte of the action nevertheless, the news gets even better.

Apple has cut prices of older versions of its iPads. The iPad 2 is now priced at $399 and the iPad Mini prices have also gone down by $100. A 16GB wifi model will now be available for just $299, or around Dh1,100.

Free OS X Maverics

In a significant move and what is definitely going to delight all Mac customers Apple has just made its new OS completely free. In fact, the upgrade has already been pushed on to the App store and anyone in the UAE can already start downloading the file, which is about 5.29GB in size.

The new OS comes with significant improvements and with more than 200 new features, bringing Maps and iBooks to Macs and all new version of Safari.
