Arab couple names their baby girl ‘Emirates’

An Arab couple has named their newly-born baby girl ‘Emirates’, as a token of appreciation to the United Arab Emirates.

Expressing his happiness, Morad Al Arabi, father of the new-born, said: “We are extremely happy to be living such special moments in our lives.  We decided to name our newly-born girl ‘Emirates’ as a token of appreciation and gratitude to the UAE. We have been happily living in the UAE for the past 18 years.”

‘Emirates’ was recently delivered at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Charles Stanford, Chief Executive Officer of Burjeel, said: “We are very proud to witness the birth of Burjeel’s first baby. This is an important moment for us at Burjeel and we share the great joy with the new-born’s family. On behalf of Burjeel Hospital, I would like to wish the family a healthy and prosperous life.”
