Arabian Automobiles, exclusive dealer of Nissan, Infiniti and Renault in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, will hire over 250 staff for its aftersales department in 2014, said a senior company official.

M K Rajkumar, Director of Aftersales and Trading at Arabian Automobiles, said the plan is to open two more aftersales centres – one in Dubai and another in the Northern Emirates.

“We have major expansion of business and networks because the customer base is growing. We plan to open one aftersales centre in Al Quoz which will be 24x7 – mainly catering to elite customers and we’re looking for the location of the second centre in the Northern Emirates. Our manpower plan for 2014 for aftersales department is to recruit additional 250 employees,” Rajkumar told Emirates 24l7.

“Around 175 people will be technicians, denters, painters and electricians; the rest will be support staff like service advisers and customer-liaison executives,” he added.

Rajkumar said the group will be hiring locally and from the other countries.

“In January, we’ll be going to Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Jordan and Lebanon for recruitment in addition to the local hiring that we’ll do for the new centres, so that we get a good mix of talent,” he said, adding that “we’ll bring majority of staff from outside to get fresh experienced people. We generally end up with 20 per cent local recruitment and the rest from outside.”

Michel Ayat, CEO of Arabia Automobiles, said the company will be focusing on New Dubai areas as the population is increasing on the other side of the emirate. “We plan to focus on New Dubai and the upcoming residential and commercial areas being developed on Mohammed bin Zayed Road.”

The group will open both new showrooms and aftersales centres in the area.

Rajkumar said Arabian Automobiles will also open a big pre-delivery inspection centre in Dubai Industrial City in 2015. “The tendering is happening now and around 60 people working in the centre.”

Arabian Automobiles has become Nissan’s first distributor globally to have achieved its highest recognition for aftersales operational excellence award for the sixth consecutive year.
