The body of the Indian kid who fell to death from the 13th floor apartment could be repatriated to India for burial on Wednesday.

Kevin Joseph, a third grade student at the Sharjah Indian School died after he fell from the 13th floor of his apartment building at Al Shuwaiheen close to the Sharjah Art Museum in the emirate.

The incident occurred on Monday morning at around 9am. The boy’s mother had as usual gone down to leave her younger kid in time for the school bus.

Kevin who was alone at the time is said to have looked down from the balcony when he fell down.

It is also being said that the boy was sleeping when the mother went down.

The boy’s dad Joseph works as an engineer and mother is a nurse at a hospital in Sharjah.

People around the building saw the child falling down and later called the police.

This is not the first time Sharjah has witnessed children falling to death from high rise apartments in the absence of parents.

In March this year another four-year old boy died after he fell from the sixth floor apartment at around the same time in the morning. The apartment’s windows had no safety locks and the boy who was playing with his friends when the incident occurred.

Last August a two-year old child fell from the 14th floor apartment and earlier in January 2013 another 16-month old baby died after she fell off the window of her apartment in Sharjah.

Earlier this year in March another nine-year old girl died after she fell from the eighth-floor apartment building in Abu Dhabi.

Officials have on several occasions strictly warned parents and caretakers to never leave children unattended and secure their balconies and windows.
