The bus routes 88 and X28 have been amended, said the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Per December 1, 2014 the bus routes will no longer serve Nakheel Metro Station. However, both routes will serve Internet City Metro Station.

Both bus routes form essential links throughout the emirate, serving many popular stops along the route.

While route 88 runs between Dubai Media City and Al Jadaf, connecting many destinations on the coast, route X28 runs between Dubai Media City and Al Qusais, serving Dubai International Airport, Deira City Center, and many coastal destinations.

Route 88 also connects to the recently opened Dubai Tram network at Dubai Knowledge Village Station and Al Sufouh Station.

On another note, bus route F37 is expected to be cancelled in the near future, because it runs along the tram route for most of its part,” according to a recent statement of Essa Abdul Rahman al Hashemi, Acting Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA.

The last time changes were made to the bus route network of Dubai was in July this year, when Dubai’s Gold Souk Bus Station, located near the Gold Souk in Deira, was temporarily relocated to Palm Deira Metro Station for the construction of a new Gold Souk bus station.

Simultaneously, the path of route C19, route F8, route 53 and route 16 were altered with minor changes.

The RTA regularly adapts, cancels or introduces bus routes in order to keep pace with the developing changes in the emirate’s landscape and travel demand.
