The new Dh360 million Dewa pipeline project is progressing as per schedule.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority said the project envisages supplying, implementing and extending a water transmission network by 67 km in several areas of Dubai.

Announcing the progress of the project, Dewa said it is led by its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, and to contribute effectively to the economic, social, and environmental development of Dubai by providing stable and uninterrupted electricity and water supply.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, Dewa, said, “Dewa aims to raise its operational capacity to contribute to the sustainable growth of the Emirate of Dubai. To date, we have extended some 25km of water pipelines, about 36.8 per cent of the total, for our new project, which involves an extension of the existing network with new 600mm, 900mm, and 1200mm pipelines.”

“The total cost estimated for the project is Dh360m, and it will enhance the network capacity to meet the growing demand in various areas in Dubai,” he added.

“The project is going as planned, and the final phase of execution is taking place in 14 months,” Al Tayer said.
