DMI helps raise breast cancer awareness

Dubai Media Inc. (DMI) and more than 45 government- and non-government departments took part in a march of one kilometre organised to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Held under the slogan 'Walk  ... in the hope of recovery' is part of an awareness campaign for the prevention of breast cancer, which was launched in early October and continued until the end of the month.

Mariam Al Murr bin Hariz - Director of the Social Department of DMI and Ilham Humaid Al Suwaidi, Supervisor at the department, as well as a delegation from Dubai Media Incorporated, and volunteers from UAE Red Crescent Authority, and representatives of a number of institutions and companies, participated in the march.

The march started from the Western Plaza at the end of the public beach to the Eastern Plaza and back again to the starting point. It included distribution of leaflets about the measures and the prevention of the disease, with emphasis on the importance of early detection.

This is in addition to a raffle on travel tickets, and the proceeds of the festival devoted for the benefit of the Red Crescent.

The goals of the campaign was to encourage women to make the early testing to detect the breast cancer.

Mariam Al Murr bin Hariz, said the participation of the DMI is coming in line of the objectives and strategy of the DMI to support community humanitarian and health.
