It’s a win-win situation for shopaholics during the current Dubai Shopping Festival. Apart from the impressive line-up of discounts and lavish prizes, Dubai streets have also been decked out to entertain and enthrall in a cultural extravaganza.

Six main areas in the emirate will be dressed up for the Dubai Shopping Festival this year.

Apart from kick-starting the DSF celebrations this year, the Creek Park will remain the main attraction, and will be transformed into the Kids Festival Park during the month-long fest.

The Festival Promenade will host the Bedouin Lifestyle Camp that will throw light on the Arab desert lifestyle and allow guests to learn and understand a new culture. It will also house the ‘Fun Fair’ carnival that will have merry-go-rounds, bucking horses, Ferris wheels, Dodgem cars and other such rides and activities, alongside kiosks selling snacks.

A circus tent will also be pitched there, with two daily shows in the evening.

Al Seef Street will come alive between 5pm and 10pm with the DSF carnival that will parade many jugglers, stilt walkers, unicyclists and musicians. A corner of the street will also put out a display of knick-knacks from across the globe at the ‘World of Souvenirs’ and guests can also embark on a culinary journey with the ‘Tea Oasis’.

The bustling Al Rigga Street in Deira opens up a huge array of shops, cafes and hotels. It will also offer the ‘Sports Zone’ and ‘Skill Games’ area.

The Heritage Village, which is touted as the symbol of Dubai’s past, will have stalls of Emirati food and artifacts.

Another major attraction will be Downtown Dubai that will witness a fashion extravaganza. Apart from the shopping at the Dubai Mall, visitors will also be treated to fun fashion shows and a massive makeover project.

More shopping discounts in Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah

With the month-long DSF underway in Dubai, the neighbouring emirates have also chalked out a month of massive discounts and big raffle draws.

Held during the same time-frame as the DSF (January 3-February 3), the City Centre Malls in Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah will have an impressive line-up of discounts and deals.

Shoppers will be treated to discounts of upto 70 per cent, and can enter weekly cash prize raffle draws of Dh15,000 for every Dh100 spent.

They also stand a chance to drive home one of three Chevrolet Silverados.

The three malls will also host a variety of children’s entertainment and activities each weekend. Residents can enjoy extended weekend shopping hours.
