Dubai’s Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) rushed a medical team to an apartment in the city after receiving a call about a big fight but it turned out to be an argument between a husband and his wife.

The report was one of numerous calls DCAS receives almost daily for services which are not within its field or authorization, according to a DCAS report.

Besides marital disputes, a girl in a hysterical fit was found only suffering from a family’s decision not to allow her out on that day. Another woman having the same condition was found that she had the fit just after watching a film.

“On one day, the Corporation received seven reports for illness cases but all of them were hysterical and non-serious cases,” the report said.

“Three of those cases involved rifts between husbands and their wives…such reports turned the Corporation into an institution for tackling marital problems.”

The report said a girl examined by a medical team was found that she was in a hysterical condition just because her parents refused to allow her to go out.

Another case involved an employee who fell unconscious at his office in a local company.

Examination showed that he was just exhausted and wanted a holiday.

The report said another case involved a woman who had a hysterical fit just after watching a video film while another was for a man lying tired on the road and was found to have fallen out with his employer. The medical team found that the man not well because he had no food all the day, the report added.

“The Corporation receives calls almost daily from people feigning illness or fatigue, headaches, work pressure, and cases associated with sleeplessness,” the Corporation’s acting executive manager Issa Al Gaffari told ‘Emarat Al Youm’ daily.
