Dubai Metro, parking timings for holiday tomorrow

Dubai Metro will run as per its schedule on Thursday, November 15, which is a holiday to mark the New Hijri Year.

“The Dubai Metro Stations will receive passengers during the holiday as usual from 05:50 am up to 01:00 am, and the express service on the Red Line will continue from 05:30 am. The schedule of public buses (Dubai Bus) will be as follows: Public buses stations, including the main bus stations such as Gold Souk & Al Ghubaiba, and subsidiary stations such as Satwa, Al Qusais, Al Qouz Industrial, and Jebel Ali will start at 06:00 am and continue up to 12.00 am (midnight), said Dr. Aysha Al Busmait, Director of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication.

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced the timings of all services during the holiday marking the advent of the New Hijri Year, comprising Customer Service Centers, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit means, driving centers and vehicles registration.

Al Busmait said: “All Customer Service Centers will be closed during the holiday of the New Hijri Year which corresponds to Thursday 15 November. Paid parking zones will be free of charge except for the Fish Market and the Multi-level parking.

She said: “Metro stations feeder bus service such as Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa, Etisalat, and Abu Hail will operate from 06:00 am up to 01:00 am. Commercial buses and inter-city buses will operate as follows: Main Stations such as Al Ghubaiba will operate 24/7 and subsidiary stations such as the Union Square, Sabkha, Deira City Center, and Karama will operate from 06:00 am up to 12.00 am (midnight). External stations such as Sharjha (Jubail – Bur Dubai), will offer services 24/7, and Sharjah  (Jubail – Deira), Abu Dhabi, Fujaira, Ajman and Hatta will operate from 06:00 am up to 12:00 am (midnight),” added Al Busmait.

About the marine services during the New Hijri Year holiday, Al Busmait said: “The Marine transit means will be operating throughout the week: Water Bus will operate from 07:00 am to 10:00 am, Water Taxi from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, Ferry Dubai from 09:00 am to 07:00 pm.

“As for driving institutes, Emirates Driving Institute, Dubai International Driving Center, and Drive Dubai will be off on Thursday while the Dubai Driving Center, Galadari Center will be on duty. Belhasa Center (Nad Al Hamar, Al Wasl) will be running the registration service only, and Al Ahli Center will be running the training service only. Working in registration offices at shopping centers will depend on the timing of the respective Centr, and driving testing centers and driver license issuing will be closed tomorrow.

“Centers offering vehicles testing & registration services will be off tomorrow (Thursday) and resumed on Saturday 17 November. These centers include: Wasl Mumayaz, Shamil, Shirawi, ENOC, Tasjeel, Cars, and Tamam Al Ghandi testing centers.

“Fixing the service timing of delivering services to customers is part of RTA strategy aimed at delivering best-in-class services to the public spanning all community segments in keeping with the standards of the industry applicable worldwide in a way that meets their needs during the holiday of the New Hijri Year,” she said.
