Dubai's 'City for Children' puts edutainment back on the syllabus

As the new academic year on, Children City, the famous edutainment centre in the emirate which is supervised by Dubai Municipality has come up with new set of educational workshops and show to entertain children.

“As the new academic year on, we have prepared new set of programmes that match children’s taste and choices’ said Naila Al- Mansoori, head of Children’s City in this regard.


The content of new shows we introduce now, includes basic science, human feelings, environment, space as well as entertainments, she continued.

According to her, workshops on human feelings where children can understand feelings and related to facial expression through various activities, and another one, dealing with weather conditions around us, are set to educate children between age group of 4-7.


Children between 8-12 will have fun-learn of history of hot air balloon and a workshop that put insight on the world of fossils.

Children above 13 will learn about the atmosphere through a programme as well as have the chance to closely understand how a rocket works.

For this group, another session where they will be able to think like a chemist also has been prepared by the officials.


Scientific shows include programmes on magnet, volcano, dry ice, paper recycling, air pressure, and fire.

The shows also have enough room to get the students interacted and have hands on experiments.

Naila urged parents and school managements to plan trips to Children’s City to enhance children to have fruitful time that is full of fun and scientific learning.
