Dubai Municipality is all set to welcome Eid Al Fitr as the different departments of the civic body have drawn a detailed plan to provide the best services to the public during the festival holidays.

Eid Musallahs and public areas are cleaned up and many entertainment activities have been lined up in the public parks.

The civic body says that stringent food control measures will be put in place to ensure food safety and there will be strict monitoring on the sale of hazardous fire-crackers in the emirate.

Sultan Ali Tahir , Head of Food Inspection Section at Food Control Department, said the department has drawn a comprehensive plan to meet the requirements of the Eid Al Fitr holidays as it has intensified its inspections in the foodstuff establishments in the emirate. "Keeping in view of the large quantity of foodstuff that comes for sale in the market, the food inspectors are not leaving anything to chance by keeping a vigilant eye on the restaurants and cafeterias in the city."

"The foodstuff that can be easily contaminated in the hot climate is put under strict check. The department's inspectors will be concentrating more on the areas where increased activities are witnessed during the Eid holidays. Traditional kitchens are also coming under constant check these days," Sultan said.

He also advised the public to check the ingredients of the food items they buy.

A number of technical employees have been put on to emergency duty to take care of any unexpected occurrences. The civic body, in coordination with the Civil Defence, is also staying alert to face any fire-related incidents.

Ahmed Hassan Shammari, Head of Dubai Abattoirs Section said that as usual, the department has ensured and organised hygiene checks in the abattoirs during Eid holidays.
