Dubai traffic alert: Fog, overturned car, multiple crashes = delays

Update: More accidents have been reported today. 

At 9.26am, “Heavy traffic congestion on Sheikh Zayed Road starting from JLT towards Abu Dhabi. Reason not known yet,” tweeted TrafficDXB.

Another one was reported a few minutes earlier. “Minor accident on Sheikh Zayed Road, opposite Mall of Emirates towards Sharjah. Please watch out for congestion. Drive safe.”

“Accident on D73 Al Khail Rd near Zabeel Rd exit towards Abu Dhabi causing congestion and slow down,” was recorded at 9.22am.

Just a minute before that: “Multiple accidents on #SZR near Zabeel Park towards #AbuDhabi causing massive congestion and tailback.”

We have confirmation that slow moving traffic reported on E11 Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Rd earlier today has been cleared.

 

Earlier

Thursday morning traffic alert showed major delays.

Twitter traffic monitors informed of delays caused due to fog and multiple accidents.

Two accidents were reported on Al Ain road around 8am.

“Two crashes on the Al Ain road heading to Dubai – causing massive tailbacks,” TrafficDXB tweeted.

“Multiple crashes on E66, near Academic City exit towards Dubai causing congestion and tailback.”

An hour earlier, at around 7am, commuters tweeted traffic delays due to fog and an overturned car.

“There is a very heavy fog on the road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi,” tweeted a motorist.

Adding, “an overturned car causing delays”.

The traffic had come to a standstill around that time, motorists reported.

“Major accidents on E11 Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Rd after Ghantoot towards Abu Dhabi bringing the traffic to a complete standstill,” tweeted TrafficDXB around 7.15am.
