Dubai washroom attack puts 21-year-old in jail

A 21-year-old Saudi visitor, AM, was sentenced to 6 months in jail for physically assaulting and wounding a man in hotel’s washroom.

The convict was also ordered to be deported after serving his jail term.

The victim told investigators that the assault happened in the washroom  of a hotel while he was waiting to his turn.

“I was in turn waiting to get into a toilet. Suddenly, a man got out of one of the toilets and abused me. Before hitting my face with a tool that I not see. Again he abused me saying: ‘I will buy you another nose’.

“Then the hotel’s security staff rushed in and caught him,” the victim AI, 24, employee told investigators.
 

Tailor sews up jail, deportation with threats

A Bangladeshi tailor who threatened to kill his employer and his family should the latter deport him, will be deported for threats he made.

IK, 26, also has to serve six month in jail for the same crime, according to a sentence issued by the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.

According to the records, on February 23, the employer, AJ, 36, received a phone call from the tailor.

“He asked me for his dues and passport. He asked me not to deport him, or he will kill me and my family.

“In addition to that he abused me saying that he will have sex with my mother and wife,” the employer told investigators.

The employer recorded the conversation.

He registered a complaint with the police and gave them the recording.

Police arrested IK and the later admitted to his crime before investigators.
