Dust storms across UAE to continue

Dust storm across the UAE will continue for the next two-to-three days, the Met Department has warned.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology also said that the temperature is expected to rise during these days by two to three degrees.
“The storm is caused by south easternly winds. The wind speed is around 10 to 18 knots is expected in open land areas. The weather in general is going to be hazy and partly cloudy,” said a NCMS official.
On Monday Kuwait witnessed another massive dust storm as a result of low pressure in Saudi Arabia and strong wind in South Eastern direction. Winds of up to 45 kilometres an hour (28 mph) reduced visibility to less than 150 metres at Kuwait airport, halting air traffic.
NCMS official however said that the dust storm currently on in the UAE is not a result of what’s happening in Kuwait. “What we are witnessing here is caused locally,” he added.
According to its forecast it will result in reducing the horizontal visibility over some areas during noon time. The sea will be moderate in general, becoming rough at times.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday in Dubai and Sharjah and other coastal areas was set around 27-38 degrees Celsius. “It will become warmer by two or three degrees during the next two days,” the official warned.
