Eiffel Tower, one of the world’s largest tourist attractions, was closed for a second day yesterday as a strike over working conditions left frustrated tourists queuing in vain at the foot of the Paris landmark.

But those planning on a visit to the world’s tallest building, the iconic Burj Khalifa, won’t have to sweat it in Dubai as entry to the massive attraction just got lighter on the pocket.

In perhaps a summer promotional gig, the tallest tower in the world is giving away walk-in tickets at a discounted price, which means you get immediate access to its observation deck.

The deal, which is now live on deals and discounts website www.cobone.com had already been bought by 724 people at the time of writing this article, with vouchers selling like hotcake.

The walk-in entry ticket, usually priced at Dh400, is now being offered for just Dh115, giving a 71 per cent discount to enjoy stunning views of Dubai from atop the world’s tallest manmade structure.

This is even economical than the normal ticket (which has to be usually booked days in advance), and which is sold for Dh125. With this deal, you can walk into the tallest tower in the world the VIP way, and still pay less than the regular fare.

Located on level 124, this is the world’s highest observation deck with an outdoor terrace. For first time visitors, you can expect an entertained and informed journey by a multi-media presentation that chronicles Dubai’s exotic history and the fascinating story of Burj Khalifa.

The 65-metre-long travelator takes you on a trip that transports visitors through time, from the earliest days of Dubai to the present. The vertical ascent to the observation deck is completed in a high-speed elevator, which travels at 10-metre per second speed and once visitors reach At The Top (the observation deck), they get breathtaking unobstructed 360-degree views of the city, desert and the ocean.
