Emirati dies week after road crash killed his sister

A 24-year-old Emirati died nearly a week after he was seriously injured in Ras Al Khaimah road crash in which his sister was killed instantly.

Rashid had suffered from brain hemorrhage and fractures in the pelvis and other parts of his body while his 30-year-old sister and 22-year-old brother, Hassan, sustained serious injuries in the accident on Tubeen road in the northern emirate.

His family moved him to a private hospital in Dubai last week for further treatment but he died on Monday, according to  Emarat Al Youm.

Rashid was driving on that road when he decided to overtake a truck moving ahead of him. He was then caught off-guard by a car coming from the opposite direction and tried to get out of its way but banged into the truck.

His 26-year-old sister who died about an hour after the crash was a back-seat passenger along with the other sister.
