Family’s lost mobile turns up with housemaid

An Emirati family lost a mobile phone at home and later found the SIM with the housemaid of a relative’s family, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The wife of Ali Humaid, 33, Emirati, employee, has lost her mobile at home. On June 6, he called the number and Sharifa, the housemaid of his brother’s family, attended the call.

Sharifa told Ali that she got the SIM from his Filipina housemaid, TMK, and that the latter still had the mobile phone.

Searching the maid’s room, Humaid found the mobile phone and when he confronted TMK, she admitted the theft.

The Filipina maid confessed before police that an Indian called Imtiaz (who is a fugitive) with whom she had sexual relations had stolen the mobile when he came to see her at the house one night.

TMK, 31, confessed before the Dubai Prosecution to the accusations and repeated her confession before the Dubai Criminal Court.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until October 6.
