Fine for Sharjah schools staff for parking in front

Sharjah Traffic Department will fine school staff in Muwaileh and Al Azrah areas if their vehicles are parked in front of schools blocking traffic movement, reported Al Bayan.

Lt Colonel Ahmad bin Darwish, Acting Director, Traffic Department, said each school has at least 50 cars of teachers parked in front of each school building, hindering traffic flow, in surrounding areas as well.

Darwish called on schools to use sandy areas behind the buildings for parking and added that Sharjah Traffic Police will have signboards put up to inform violators of fines.

He said such a measure will be effective in solving the congestion issue in areas that have many schools.

He also said some schools did not co-operate when contacted and requested all schools to adhere to the rule.
