Fire breaks out in 2 warehouses in Sharjah

Published

Two warehouses were reduced to mere ashes in two separate blazes that broke out in Sharjah on Saturday.

Strong winds that were blowing in the emirate did not help the firefighters who were struggling to bring the flames under control, reports Al Bayan. However, the fire did not spread to the neighbouring warehourses.

The warehouse located in Al Sajja industrial area contained petroleum material, said the daily.

Brigadier Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, director general of the Sharjah Civil Defence confirmed that no one was injured in the fire.

The second fire broke out in the Al Taawun Area in a wooden caravan on Sunday morning. Two workers who were inside the caravan at the time when the fire broke out sustained minor burn injuries.

The fire spread from the caravan to two cars and they were damaged. However, the firefighters were able to contain the fire from spreading further.

The injured workers were moved to a hospital and were reported to be stable.
