Emirates has cancelled its regular daily operation to Charles de Gaulle Airport for Tuesday and Wednesday, following the three-day strike by French Air Traffic Controllers.

The affected passengers have been accommodated on to other flights.

Emirates in its statement said it has been advised by authorities to reduce their fights to the airport.

“Due to a French Civil aviation strike from 11 to 13 June, authorities have mandated that all airlines reduce their flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. As a result Emirates has had to cancel EK71/2 DXB/CDG/DXB on both the 11th and 12th of June. All affected passengers have been re-accommodated on other EK services. Emirates apologises for any inconvenience caused,” the statement said.

French air traffic controllers are protesting against an European Union plan to liberalise civil airspace.

Hundreds of flights from France to other parts of Europe and other international destinations have been affected due to the protest.

Protesting staff are worried that the EU plans for a "Single European Sky" will adversely affect their working conditions.
