Hottest gadgets @ Dubai's Gitex Shopper: Get your own drone going...

I have to say I'm not very tech-savvy. So what really catches my eye at Gitex are the out-of-the-ordinary products on display.

And a closer look at the mesh of technology revealed a number of unforgettable pieces.

For instance, I wasn't sure how to react when I saw the Click and Grow products on display at E-max and why they were even there. But these pots contain a microchip that helps various plants grow in different environments without the use of soil.  The small sizes start from AED 359.

Imagine printing out your own products. That's possible with a Makerbot 3D Replicator, being sold at Jacky's starting from AED 5,550.

This little remote-controlled drone turned (and bent down) a few heads as it swooped above the crowds, offered at Tarsam Image for AED 375.

Perfect timing as Halloween's not too far away, here's another remote-controlled delight at Tarsam Image, offered at AED 99.

Many speakers perform their functional duties, but none of them scream to be cuddled! These plush teddy bear speakers are sold at Guangzhou Yisitong Electronics for AED 150.

This one would be of great use to those drivers who had a long day and tend to doze off at the wheel. The aptly-named Nap Zapper does just that, sensing the second your head tilts over and alerts you with either a high-pitched beep or an intense vibration, for AED 19 sold at Mega Electronics.

Telling time hasn't been this interesting in a while! A variety of quirky clocks are on display at Tarsam Image starting at AED 129.
