The 2012-2013 season of Global Village, the first family destination for culture, shopping and entertainment in the region, will close today (Saturday, April 6).
The Seventeenth season of Global Village recorded the longest season since the inaugurating season in 1997, and with the extension announced last week, the operational period recorded was of a record 168 days.
As the seventeenth season draws to a close, the global village has offered its millions of visitors a season full of events and recreational activities as well as cultural performances that span the entire globe.
Throughout this season Global Village has hosted more than 11,000 shows compared with nearly 9,000 the previous season, in addition to 37 pavilions representing more than 65 countries and more than 160 kiosks and 26 restaurants offering delicious food and drinks from all international cuisines.
Following the operational end of the season, Global Village will directly start preparing for its eighteenth season to come up with the best shows, activities and new surprises that will offer next season’s visitors with more memorable moments.
Global village invites all visitors to spend happy times with their families this Saturday, and enjoy watching cultural performances and shopping from the different pavilions and eating gourmet traditional and folk flavors that will last in the memory until the next date of its launch later this year.
