After a successful season, Global Village will begin celebrating its 20th anniversary on November 3, 2015, organisers have announced.

The destination attracted 5 million visitors during the latest season, and organisers are looking forward to welcoming families to another season of fantastic experiences.

“Our strategy is to keep pace with Dubai’s vision and to reflect it into our own activities,” says Mohammed Al Mulla, Director of the Global Village and CEO of Arab Media Group.

Dubai’s Global Village is the region’s leading open-air family, cultural, shopping, and entertainment destination, with more than 65 participating countries, 3,500 shops, 170 kiosks, and over 12,000 entertainment shows per season.

Registration for sponsors and investors is currently open for Global Village’s next season.

“We assign a great focus on areas of the highest value for people, be it entertainment, shopping or the exciting amusement park rides for visitors of all ages,” he says. “We have invested heavily in infrastructure and quality including collaborations with external parties,” Al Mulla adds.

The annual Global Village Awards Ceremony was recently held to honour the participation of business partners, sponsors and the local media in the success of the park’s record breaking 19th season.

The ceremony recognised the hard work and determination of government authorities during the 19th season to help make Global Village Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural attraction.

“This has been an extremely successful season for Global Village which has only been possible thanks to the dedication and support of our investors and sponsors,” said Ahmad Hussain bin Essa, the COO of Global Village.

“The commitment of our investors and sponsors has helped us to create a bigger and better Global Village that during Season 19 gave families and guests an experience that they will never forget. These partnerships, allied to the tremendous support we have had from the media here in Dubai and across the region, has helped us attract 5 million visitors during our 157-day season,” he said.

The awards ceremony saw Africa Pavilion win the award for the Best Pavilion – with a wide range of products that showcased the wonderful culture of the country, as well as giving guests an insight into traditions and customs. The ceremony also saw Sadaf awarded for Best Restaurant and the Thailand Pavilion awarded for Best Façade.

“The accomplishments we have experienced in season 19 are just the beginning. We plan to take the cultural entertainment concept further, while keeping in mind the highest standards of safety and creativity, as well as bringing happiness to Global Village guests,” Ahmad Hussain said.
