Parents scrambling for school admissions might just make it to the new academic year 2015-16.

Hartland International, which is one of eight schools that will open in Dubai this year, is still open for admission.

Talking to Emirates24|7, Paul Silverwood, Founding Principal of Hartland International School said, “We have limited availability now and specific year groups are filling up fast.”

Located at Al Maktoum City-District One, the school will feature spacious classrooms, nine laboratories for science, technology and robotics, a large auditorium with advanced projection, stage and concert facilities and a three-floor library.

For sports and recreation, the school will offer six world-class sports facilities including an eight lane 25m swimming pool and a separate training pool for beginners. There will be an indoor sports centre for gymnastics, basketball, badminton and football as well as an outdoor football field. The rooftop will feature tennis and netball courts as well as shaded play areas with additional indoor activity rooms for dance, drama and physical development and a 700 seater auditorium.

Elaborating the admission process, he said, “Parents, teachers and students can visit the Discovery Centre (Sobha Sapphire Building in Business Bay) from 8.30am to 4.30am Sunday to Thursday and Saturday by appointment to see one of the education team.”

For “parents who register before August 2015, will be given Founding Parents Tuition Fees that ranges from Dh49,750 in the FS1 going up to Dh62,400 in Year 6. When the new academic year commences, fees will range from AED 49,750 to AED 65,000”.

Silverwood explained for the first year, “teacher-student ratio will be approximately 1:11. This is in line with leading independent schools around the world.

“The school will accommodate children from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 6 in the first year.”
