Indian missions in UAE hike passport services fee

Indian expatriates in the UAE will have to cough up an extra Dh135 and pay a total of Dh285 to renew their passport effective October 1, 2012 as the fees for passport related services at the Indian missions in the UAE have been upwardly revised.

The fee for the renewal of the passport was Dh150 earlier.

The embassy in Abu Dhabi in a statement said the revised fee is applicable beginning October 1 as per the new order released by the Government of India.

The fees for Tatkaal scheme for passport services is increased to Dh855 from Dh700.

Additional fees charged for 60-page Jumbo booklet is raised to Dh95 from Dh40.  Fees charged in case of the Lost/ Stolen/ Damage category has been revised from Dh505 to Dh570.
