Abu Dhabi Police arrested an Arab national who targeted women to practise black magic within 10 days of him entering the country as a tourist.

The 38-year-old claimed to bring about reconciliation between people, nullify effects of black magic done on them and make clients richer and multiplying their money by summoning spirits.

He charged them according to the magic potion he was required to use to achieve clients' demands.

Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammed Burasheed, Director, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abu Dhabi Police, said the team acted on a reliable tip-off and arrested him.

Since it was informed that he targeted women, a policewoman posed as a client and approached him seeking his help in reconciling with her husband and becoming richer.

The suspect confessed to the crime but claimed that it was not witchcraft that he practiced. However, Col. Burasheed said the materials seized from the suspect are considered as the substances used in black magic. Police seized needles, rosery, incense, papers with instructions written, and bottles with liquid and dry materials.

The official urged public to be cautious and not be lured by such claims.
