Malabar Gold outlet in Sharjah robbed

The Rolla outlet of a jewellery chain in Sharjah was robbed on Saturday morning, and several jewellery items on display were missing from the showroom.

The branch of Malabar Gold and Diamonds was robbed at around 4am on Saturday, and the Sharjah Police rushed to the scene after the security alarm bell rang.

“The Sharjah Police Control Room was informed about the robbery and they have started an investigation. The Closed Circuit Television footages and other forensic evidences are collected as part of the investigation,” said an official from Malabar Gold and Diamonds, which has more than 100 outlets in the GCC, India and South East Asia.

The official said jewellery kept in the safe locker remained in the outlet, and only display items are missing.

The robbery has been recorded in the Closed Circuit Television and the robbers left the scene within a few minutes of the operation. The cops reached the spot immediately, but thieves had left the crime scene by then.
