Man kills friend for trying to rape him

An Asian worker who killed his friend in their room in Abu Dhabi told court on Wednesday that he acted in self defence after his friend tried to rape him.

The killer, who has been in prison for nearly three years, said his friend had tried to molest and rape him many times before he decided to get rid of him.

“He told the judge that he was asleep on that night when his friend came close to him and was drunk…he said his friend tried again to molest and rape him,” the Arabic language daily Al Ittihad said.

“He said that he decided to kill him in self defence…he pleaded not guilty and insisted he defended his honour,” it added.

The paper said the judge decided to adjourn hearings to December 23.
