An appeals court in Abu Dhabi sentenced an Arab man to death for murdering his wife just because she got pregnant, newspapers reported on Monday.
The unnamed man had agreed with his wife not to get pregnant so his first wife would not know he had married again, they said.
“When she told him she is pregnant, he stabbed her to death…the appeals court upheld an earlier death verdict by another court after the victim’s relatives refused to accept diya (blood money) and pardon him,” Alittihad daily said.
