The body of the murdered Indian woman, who was found dead with throat slit in her Bur Dubai apartment on September 26, has been flown to India for burial.

The 36-year-old housewife was living with her four-year-old son and husband in an apartment in Bur Dubai. Police have also arrested a 29-year-old Indian for premeditated murder.

The dead body, which was preserved in the mortuary following investigation was released to the family on Monday. “The embalming has been done and the body has been flown to her hometown in Tamil Nadu, India, for burial,” a friend of the family told Emirates 24l7.

Her husband works as an accountant at a Dubai-based company and has flown to India for the burial.

The Criminal Investigation Department team of the Dubai Police solved the murder within 48 hours after the incident was reported. The 29-year-old Indian had initially gone to the apartment following an advertisement that the family had put up to sell a used washing machine.

He returned later, attacked the woman, slit her throat, and locked the house before escaping with the gold jewelry.

Dubai police last month said the man who lives a street across the place of the murder had confessed of committing the murder.

Police have also warned families to be specifically careful when admitting strangers into the house.
