New Adnoc stations to ease Sharjah woes

Adnoc Distribution, the oil retail chain of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is expanding its service stations network in Sharjah and Ajman by opening two new outlets each in Ajman and Sharjah.

Official sources from Adnoc confirmed to Emirates 24|7 that two, new, state-of-the-art Adnoc Service stations are almost ready for inauguration in Ajman on the Emirates Road and work is fast progressing on more outlets in Sharjah, an Emirate where the number of customers at Adnoc stations have shot up after the closure of more than 30 outlets of rival retailer, Enoc and Eppco.
The Enoc Group has 82 outlets across Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, most of which are now closed.

“We have completed the work on this new service station in Ajman on the Emirates Road. It is located close to the two busy Enoc stations on the highway,” said an Adnoc supervisor, overseeing work at the forthcoming site.

While other Enoc/Eppco stations have been closed for petrol sales, these two outlets (No 1023 and 1025) have been operating as usual.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has been directed to solve Sharjah’s fuel shortage after  Enoc/Eppco petrol stations have stopped selling subsidised fuel and many of the outlets were closed due to official action from the Sharjah Government.

The new outlets are expected to divert long queues from the existing stations as motorists line up refill their tanks at Adnoc due to non-availability of an alternative.

The extra demand has led to Adnoc stations also running dry occasionally, as it happened recently in the northern Emirates.
When the Emirates 24|7 visited the new stations recently, the outlets were ready for operations. “We were supposed to start operations, but due to delay in getting power connection, the inauguration is delayed. The access roads and name boards are placed two kilometers away from the station,” he added.

Adnoc service stations provide a wide range of petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricating oils, LPG and more. In addition, there are modern automatic car-wash and oil change services in the new outlets.

The new service stations located on the highways have been equipped with many modern conveniences to assist motorists and travellers, during their journey.

Adnoc has been refurbishing some of the patrol stations in Northern Emirates to widen the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel distribution network. It has set up specialised garage facilities to convert vehicles on diesel or petrol to CNG use at many stations.
Three petrol stations in Sharjah already sell CNG.

The Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) project is progressing as per schedule and more Adnoc stations will be dispensing CNG soon.
