New course compulsory at all UAE universities from Jan 2016

All government and private universities and higher education institutes will include Innovation and Business Leadership as part of their curriculum starting from January 2016.

This was announced by the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education, which will partner with the Leyland Stanford University from the US.

According to the ministry, innovation and business leadership curriculum will be compulsory for all higher education institutes across the nation.

Five stages

This is going to be implemented on three stages.

The first stage will be by organising the Innovation and Business Leadership Forum between 22-23 November in which seven experts from Stanford University are going to speak about this topic.

The second stage will start by teaching this subject in three university which are: UAE University, Zayed University, and Higher Colleges of Technology.

The third stage will be involving conducting workshops and seminars to 30 members from universities and higher education institutes in the country about teaching this topic in their institutes.

The fourth stage will involve members visiting Stanford University and Dubai Silicon Oasis.

The fifth and final stage will be offering consultation on how to develop the educational project in the UAE and it will last for five days.

Innovation and Business Leadership Forum Dr Mohammed Al Baili, Deputy Managing Director of UAE University announced that they are going to launch the Innovation and Business Leadership Forum from 22-23 November alongside UAE Innovation Week.

More than 20 universities and educational institutes will participate in the forum.

This forum aims to enrich and spread the culture of innovation and enhance students’ knowledge about it.
