The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department is currently working on two new laws related to real estate brokers and mortgage, which are likely to be released before year-end.

In an interview to Al Bayan newspaper, Hamad Salim Al Mazroua, Director General of the Department, said that they would finish studying the draft law within a few months and present them to both the Executive and the Advisory Councils to be approved before the end of the year.

He added the department was keen to introduce these laws since it would have a positive impact on the work environment of the real estate market in Sharjah.

Al Mazroua said the department had notified all real estate brokerage firms registered with the department to participate in training programs provided by the department in cooperation with the Dubai land Department.

“One of the priorities of the department is to build a culture of real estate based on a scientific basis with dealers in the real estate sector in Sharjah.”

Al Mazroua disclosed that they were working on a plan that will specify certain areas to be reviewed by the concerned authorities and their data updated to include them in the new electronic system during 2015.

He added that the inclusion of the old properties to the unified number would be gradual.

The department, however, applies the unified number system on all the transactions of the new real estate, which has reduced the time to about 10 minutes per transaction for about two hours earlier.

Al Mazroua asserted that their archives have personal photo of the client so to avoid the mistakes because of similar names.
