The Licensing Agency of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to hold its 77th Open Number Plates Auction on September 29. Registration for the auction opened last Saturday. The auction, which is the penultimate one for this year, will offer around 125 plates for private vehicles, classic vehicles and motorbikes.
“The forthcoming auction contains many eye-catching plates, particularly as it features 2, 3, 4, and 5-digit plates in all classes to satisfy the wishes of our clients who are in pursuit of distinguished number plates, offering them ample chance to select numbers of their choice for both vehicles and motorbikes,” said Abdullah Abdul Rahman, Acting Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA Licensing Agency.
“Around 125 distinguished numbers will be on offer during the next auction comprising eight plates for vintage cars, four for motorbikes and 113 for private vehicles. Among the prominent numbers for classic cars set to be offered in the auction are: 17, 1111, and 11111. Eye-catchers among plates offered for private cars include two-digit plates such as: K 32, K 26 and K 44, three-digit plates such as K 200, K 300 and H 400 in addition to four-digit plates such as J 7777, K 2222 and K 5000. There will be four three-digit plates for motorbikes highlighted by the plate 123.
Registration for the auction will continue through the day of the auction. Registration can be made at RTA Customer Service Centers in Dubai, or via the website (www.rta.ae).
To register, the potential bidder has to submit a security deposit cheque amounting to Dh10,000 along with the participation fees amounting to Dh110. The successful bidder has to submit a cheque amounting to the total amount of purchases after the auction is completed, and has to report to the customer service centre on the following day to pay the outstanding dues.
